Whether you’re building a simple foundation for a manufactured home or building an elaborate custom home, Specialty Precast Company offers a versatile product to meet most specifications. Our foundations offer the following advantages:
- Product Strength – Specialty Precast Wall Panels are designed to be one of the strongest foundations on the market.
- Monolithic pour -Strength is achieved through a monolithic pour using a combination of strategically placed 1/2” and 5/8” steel reinforcement rods and 5000 psi fiber reinforced concrete. The strength of the concrete is also enhanced with a superplasticizer admixture which reduces the amount of water needed in the concrete mixture. The entire manufacturing process is poured with a uniform batch of concrete eliminating the possibility of inconsistencies associated with multiple step procedures. Depending on the height of the panel, a typical foundatioin panel weighs approximatly 440 to 512 pounds.
- Design- Strength is enhanced by incorporating a vertical concrete stud on the outside of each straight panel and by using two solid 45 degree panels for each outside corner. Joining two straight panels creates a 5” by 11” column of solid concrete at each joint, and an 11” by 11” concrete post is formed at each outside corner.
- Quality- Product quality is consistent. Consistent quality is attained by manufacturing the panels inside our facility under controlled conditions and using a uniform concrete mixture. Precast panels are not subject to the variables inherent with working in an exposed environment. Uniform concrete mixes eliminate variations in concrete which may affect the integrity of the structure. State of the art equipment and quality control procedures ensure we are able to offer a quality product.
- Cost Savings -
- Footer –Wall panels may be set using a concrete footer or set on a layer of crushed limestone. The crushed limestone base is more economical and provides several advantages over concrete footers.
- Interior finish - The interior is ready to finish and saves the cost of labor and framing materials to convert a basement into usable living space. Wall panels are insulated with 8-1/2" of Energy Star Approved EPS insulation to attain an R-30 value. The ready-to finish design offers the owner the opportunity to maximize their living space and increas the value of their home.
- Time Savings - Installation time is reduced from days to hours. A precast foundation is manufactured in a controlled environment; minimizing the delays associated with the weather conditions. By limiting weather delays, the construction professional can maintain a consistent schedule.
- Watertight Design - A watertight design is achieved utilizing a crushed limestone base, a watertight concrete mix and multiple sealants between each panel.
- Crushed limestone base- Almost all foundations are set on a crushed limestone base which eliminates hydrostatic pressure as a source of moisture commonly found in foundations with concrete footers.
- Watertight concrete mix- the mix design exceeds the watertight concrete specifications by 25% using a 5000 psi mixture.
- Multiple sealants- each panel is sealed using two layers of a butyl rubber material and a third seal of polyurethane.
- Ease of Finishing - The labor and expense of finishing a basement is reduced by using a Specialty Precast Wall Panel.
- Steel Studs - 25 gauge drywall studs are incorporated into each concrete stud to accept finishing materials. Steel studs are not prone to warping and do not retain moisture like wood.
- Plumbing and electric- panels provide easy access to route electrical and plumbing.
- Pre-Insulated panels incorporate 8-1/2" of Energy Star approved expanded polystyrene with an R value exceeding R-30.
- Insulating capacity- Each cavity between the concrete studs is capable of accepting 8 ½” of insulation. Interior space is not reduced since insulation is within the wall panel rather than having to frame the interior to insluate.
- Value - Specialty Precast Wall Panels provide exceptional strength, excellent quality and advantages over other methods of construction. When considering the overall cost of a finished basement, Specialty Precast Wall Panels are one of the best values available to the residential market.
